Selling digital products on WordPress has never been easier, thanks to a trio of plugins: JetEngine, JetForms, and JetSmartFilter. This guide will walk you through the process, from setting up your digital product listings to handling payments and delivering the purchased files to your customers.


Please make sure you have the following installed and activated:

Create a Custom Post Type for Downloads

  1. Navigate to JetEngine > Post Types and click on Add New.
  2. Name the post type as “Downloads.”
  3. Under Advanced Settings, choose an icon for your post type.
  4. Add two meta fields:
    • file_download (Media type)
    • price (Number type)
  5. Click Add Post Type.

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Downloads > Add New.
  2. Enter the name of the digital product, for example, “Adobe Acrobat Reader.”
  3. Fill in the description for the product.
  4. Upload the digital file under the file_download meta field.
  5. Set the price under the price meta field.
  6. Choose a featured image for the product.
  7. Click Publish.

Build the Purchase Form

Step 2: Navigate to JetForm Builder > Add New Form.

  1. Name the form, e.g. “Download File”.
  2. Add three fields to the form:

    • email address (text field)
  3. Configure Stripe or Paypal settings under JetFormBuilder > Settings > Payment Gateways.

  4. Set up an email action to send the purchased file upon successful payment.

Create a Single Download Page

  1. Navigate to Elementor > Theme Builder > Add New and add a single page.
  2. Choose the post type “Downloads” under Settings > Preview Settings.
  3. Design the layout including the title, description, and price.
  4. Insert the form you created earlier.
  5. Publish the template.

Add Payment Success Action & Test Form

  1. Go to your “Download File” Form.
  2. Select “Gateway Success” under Post Submit Actions > Send Email > Edit Action Conditions & Events.

  4. Test your form if everything works accordingly.
